In addition to learning and teaching, personality development and social awareness are equally important for the holistic development of students. Physics, chemistry, mathematics and communication skills are of special importance in the field of engineering. Recognizing the importance of all these fields of the knowledge, First Year Engineering Department under the guidance of Chairman, VPSSM Hon’ble Shri. Vishaldada Patil, Trustee (VPSSM) Shri Amitdada Patil and Principal Dr. D.V. Ghewade special lectures (webinars) are organized every Saturday under the “Innovative Lecture Series” for first year engineering students. Accordingly, an online lecture on “Attitude and Behavior” by lecturer Dr. Ajay V. Deshmukh & Dr. Pallavi Soman Invited talk on, “Industrial Mathematics” & Invited talk on, “Readiness for Functional Communication in English” on Saturday 26th June 2021.
Into the first half of this webinar Dr. Ajay V. Deshmukh explained uses of mathematics in industrial field. The applications of industrial mathematics found in various machines and tools. The mathematical concepts such as transfer functions of linear electrical systems, mathematical phenomena, correlation between mathematics and perception, analysis and synthesis, signal system, frequency domain, projectile, application of differential equations explained in colloquial language. The working of modern machineries such as MRI, MR Diffusion Tensor and the need of industrial mathematics to functionalize also focused.
Into the second half of this webinar Dr. Pallavi Soman explained how the professionals and engineers should ready for functional communication in English. What the communication function means and elements of functional communication,use of grammar,vocabulary development activities, pronunciation and situational vocabulary also discussed interactively.
This webinar was organized by the First Year Engineering Department. Dr. Anushka Patil (Head of the Department) led the event as well as coordinated. Mr.Maqsood Waiker and Mr. Amit Chavan introduced guest speakers and Dr. Sanjay Patil offered vote of thanks & Mrs.Smita Mandale anchored the event. Special assistance was received from the Registrar of the College, Mr. Kiran Patil for this event.In the first year, Dr. Vishal Suryavanshi, Dr. Prakash Kadam- Lugde and Mrs. Deepali Lavate took special efforts. The event was attended by all first year engineering students and parents. Students are expressing satisfaction about this initiative.
