• Field Visit

The five dedicated faculty members from the Civil Engineering Department—Mr. Ranjitsinh S. Patil, Mr. Vijaykumar G. Sawant, Mr. Nilesh S. Patil, Mrs. Smita Patil, and Mrs. Utkarsha Kasbekar along with 40 students—visited the Aruna Medium Irrigation Project at Het, Maharashtra on 04th April 2025. The visit proved to be an insightful experience, offering in-depth understanding of the planning, design, and execution aspects of irrigation infrastructure.

The Institute extends its sincere appreciation to Prof. R. S. Patil Sir for successfully coordinating this enriching two-day study tour. We also acknowledge and thank the Civil Engineering Department, HOD, Principal, and the Management for their consistent efforts in promoting experiential learning and professional development among faculty members.

• Visit to “Habitat 2024” Exhibition:

The Department of Civil Engineering organized a student visit to the Habitat 2024 Exhibition, held at Neminath Nagar Ground, Sangli, from November 28 to December 1, 2024. This is the 11th edition of the exhibition, organized by the Engineers and Architects Association. The event showcases advanced materials and innovative construction techniques in civil engineering. The visit was coordinated by Prof. Vijaykumar G. Sawant. We encourage all faculty members and students to attend this exhibition to enhance their knowledge and understanding of emerging trends in the field.

• Study Tour:

The four faculty members Mr V. G. Sawant, Mrs.Y. M. Pudale , Mrs. S. M. Patil, Mr. N. S. Bembade and 46 Civil Engineering students *from the Civil Engineering Department, PVPIT College Budhgaon, had the privilege of visiting Tej Elevia, a high-rise construction project by Tejraj Group in Baner, Pune,* as part of a two-day study tour dated 09 Nov. 2024.

We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to *Mr. Tejraj Patil Sir and the entire team at Tejraj Group* for their exceptional hospitality, thoughtful arrangements, and the opportunity to witness such an inspiring project firsthand. Their commitment to excellence was evident not only in the high standards of the project itself but also in the way they welcomed us and ensured an informative, engaging experience for both our faculty and students.

The tour included in-depth insights into high-rise construction practices, design considerations, and quality standards that are essential for sustainable development. The *Tejraj Group team members* generously shared their expertise, offering valuable knowledge that aligns closely with the academic learning of our students.

A special thanks for the delicious lunch provided—it made our visit all the more memorable and added a personal touch to the extended hospitality. This experience has enriched our students’ practical understanding of the industry and will undoubtedly inspire them as future civil engineers.

We also wish to express our heartfelt thanks to *Mr. Hemant More Sir* for his guidance and support throughout the visit, and we convey our sincere gratitude to *the Chairman of our Institute, Shree Vishaldada Patil, Trustee Shri. • Parents Meet: A meeting of parents of second year, third year and final year civil engineering students was conducted in the civil engineering dept on 11/10/2024 . The meeting provided an opportunity to reduce the communication gap between faculty-parents and the dept.

Opening Remark:- The meeting commenced with a warm welcome extended to all parents by assistant prof.P.A.Patil. The agenda of the meeting was outlined.

The attendance and MSE marks of the student were displayed to the parents.

4. Display of academic performance of students by respective class teachers.
5. Interested parent’s speech .

Overview of Meeting:- Asst.Prof.P.A.Patil welcomed all the parents and students for the meet parent of the Student for the meet parent of the student also introduced themselves . Then interested parents expressed their thoughts.

The main concern of most of the parents was students not attending lectures and not doing timely submission .Some parents raised few academic issues. Dr. V.T.Gaikwad sir answered the question of the parents.

The parents were thankful for arranging the parents’ meet .They said that it was useful for them to understand the academic progress of their child .Parents also gave performance of student arrangement of  parents meeting should be done frequently to bridge the gap between parents and faculty. Students also actively participated in the discussion.They suggest that the remedial lecturers for weaker students should be conducted.

5. Concluding Remark:- Dr. V.T.Gaikwad sir (HOD)concluded the meeting .He said that the dept. is thankful to parents for attending the meeting. He informed the parents about the class assessment ,MSE , UT1,UT2. The student should do timely submission. Students should attend the lecture and do self study.

They should participate in the workshop and online internship programme arrangement by the dept.He also informed about the workshop and expert lectures arranged by the dept.in this academic year.Various field visit ,expert lectures are arranged for the overall dept. Of the student . Remedial and supplementary exams are conducted for failed students. He also enlightened the parents and students about the government. Job opportunities available for civil engineering students. According to HOD,the parent’s feedback is very important, they should come forward and speak.

The parents  were given feedback forms which were collected at the end of the meeting.

At last Dr. V.T.Gaikwad (HOD) sir thanked the parents for coming to the meeting and giving their valuable suggestions. He also expressed gratitude toward all the faculty members and students for attending the meeting.

• Y B.Tech Civil students performed a block contouring project work on the airfield of proposed airport at Kavalapur, Dist-Sangli as a part of DBATU curriculum on 25.10.2024. The outcome of a block contouring project on field as:-

1. Accurate topographic maps
2. Detailed terrain models
3. Identification of natural features (e.g., rivers, hills)
4. Location of man-made structures (e.g., buildings, roads)
5. Calculation of volumes (e.g., earthwork, stockpiles)
6. Creation of 3D models for visualization and analysis
7. Determination of boundary lines and property limits
8. Mapping of contours for drainage and water flow studies
9. Identification of potential environmental hazards (e.g., landslides, flooding)
10. Provision of data for engineering design and planning purposes.

This Project was coordinated by Prof.S.B.Mohite,Prof.A.K.Salunkhe, Prof. A.A.Kusanale and supporting staff.

• The Training and Placement Department of PVPIT, Budhgaon, in collaboration with the Department of Civil Engineering, organised an interactive session with Mr. Tejraj Patil, CMD of Tejraj Group and an esteemed alumnus from the 1993 batch of our institute. During the session, Mr. Patil engaged with the students, addressing their questions and providing valuable career guidance, while also motivating them towards their professional growth. He discussed potential internship opportunities and assured his continuous support to help students, with the goal of bringing pride to the Civil Engineering Department at PVPIT. Mr. Tejraj Patil was accompanied by Mr. Sachin Sakpal, Mr. Hemant More, and Mr. Mirja Sir, who were also present for the session.The TPO of the institute, Prof. Arif Bookseller, and Principal Dr. B. S. सांगली येथील पदमभूषण वसंतरावदादा पाटील इन्स्टिटयूट ऑफ टेकनॉलॉजि बुधगाव ,सांगली येथे विध्यार्थ्यांसाठी नवीन संधी उपलब्ध व्हाव्यात व त्यांचा सर्वांगीण विकास व्हावा या दृष्टीकोनातून महाविद्यालयाच्या माजी विध्यार्थ्यांच्या सहकार्याने व कॉलेज व्यवस्थापन समिती तसेच स्थापत्य अभियांत्रिकी विभागाच्या मार्गदर्शन खाली एक आठवड्याचा ऑनलाईन परिसंवाद आयोजित करण्यात आला.या परिसंवादास वसंतदादा शेतकरी शिक्षण मंडळाचे अध्यक्ष मा.श्री. विशालदादा पाटील,विश्वस्त मा.श्री.अमितदादा पाटील
श्री.पी.एल. रजपूत सर, साचिव, मा श्री. आदिनाथ मगदुम यांचे बहुमोल मार्गदर्शन लाभले.
या परिसंवादात कोविड-१९ च्या महामारीनंतरची आव्हाने व संधी, अद्ययावत कौशल्य, व्यवसाय निर्मिती या विषयावर मार्गदर्शन झाले.या अंतर्गत विध्यार्थी व अध्यापक वर्गाला स्थापत्य विभागातील विविध उच्य पदस्थ, नामवंत व्यावसाईक ,महामारी परिस्थितीत प्रत्यक्ष मदत कार्यात सहभागी शासकीय अभियंते अशा माजी विध्यार्थ्यानी विवेचन केले. यात मुख्यत्वे अभियंत्यांना भविष्यात मिळणाऱ्या संधी, सुविधा, अंगीकृत करावी लागणारी कौशल्ये, नोकरी, नवीन व्यवसाय , उत्तम व्यावसाईक कसे बनावे ? अशा अनेक विषयांवर समुपदेशन करण्यात आले. हा परिसंवाद ऑनलाईन पद्धतीने निशुल्क तत्वावर दि. २५ ते २९ मे २०२० दरम्यान आयोजित करण्यात आला होता. या मध्ये सिव्हील विभागातील सर्व विध्यार्थी, अध्यापक, इतर महाविद्यालयातील विध्यार्थी,अध्यापक इतर माजी विध्यार्थी महाराष्ट्रातील शैक्षणिक संस्थेतील स्टाफ, अशा एकूण ४१० प्रशिक्षणार्थ्यांनी सहभाग नोंदवला व लाभ घेतला.
या प्रसंगी श्री तेजराज पाटील – तेजराज प्रमोटर्स व बिल्डर्स पुणे, श्री सचिन संकपाळ, शिव कन्स्ट्रक्शन व शिवम बिल्डर्स, सांगली,
श्री. सुधीर गायकवाड – कार्यकारी अभियंता ठाणे महानगरपालिका , श्री राजेश जाधव – निवासी अभियंता बहुराष्ट्रीय कंपनी लूइस बर्गर, श्री अनिल अंकलगी – सहा. मुख्य अभियंता म्हाडा मुंबई,
यांचा झूम अँप व युट्युब द्वारे दररोज सुमारे दोनतास वार्तालाप झाला. या व्हिडिओ लेक्चर्स मध्ये विध्यार्थ्यांच्या उत्स्फूर्त प्रश्न व शंकांचे वक्त्यांच्यासमर्पक उत्तराने समाधान झाले. ऑनलाईन प्रवेश व उपस्थिती नोंदवत सर्व समाविष्ट प्रशिक्षणार्थाना इ-मेल प्रणालीद्वारे प्रमाणपत्रे पाठवण्यात आली.विद्यार्थी केंद्रबिंदू मानून पूर्णपणे माजी विध्यार्थी समाविष्ट या आयोजित कार्यशाळेचे (परिसंवादाचे)सर्वदूर कौतुक होत आहे. कोरोनासंक्रमीत लॉकडॉन काळातील सर्व नियमांचे तंतोतंत पालन करीत हि संगणकीय (वेबिनार) प्रणाली पूर्ण केली असलेने महाविद्यालयाचे कार्य कौतुकपत्रच आहे. व्यवस्थापनाच्या सहकार्याने संस्थेचे प्राचार्य डॉ. डी. व्ही. घेवडे यांच्या मार्गदर्शनाखाली व स्थापत्य अभियांत्रिकी विभागाचे विभाग प्रमुख प्रा.व्ही.टी.गायकवाड यांच्या नियोजनात हा परिसंवाद यशस्वी झाला. या कार्यक्रमाचे संयोजन प्रा. एम .व्ही. नागेंद्र व इतर सहकारी प्रा. सौ. रेश्मा कराड ,प्रा. एस . ए. पाटील, प्रा.एम. बी, पेंढारी, व प्रा. व्ही. जी. सावंत यांच्या परिश्रमातून झाले.
या आणि अशा अनेक वैविध्य पूर्ण, रचनात्मक ,सकारात्मक शिक्षण प्रणाली साठी सुप्रसिद्ध पी.व्ही.पी.आय. टी. नेहमीच अग्रेसर आहे.

Institution of Engineers (India) Kolhapur local centre in association with Department of Electrical Engg. PVPIT Budhgaon organised seminar on 18th January 2019 on topic ” energy Conservation & Audit ” In inaugural funtion, introduction and purpose behind the theme of seminar was given by Coordinator of Er. L.S.Patil The seminar was inagurated by watering the plant and garlanding & photo poojan of Saraswati Inagural Speech given by Dr. M.p.Hampali GWRP Tasgaon In his speech he give the information about the IEI & it’s activities in technical field & engineering .
Prof.M.M. Wagh from PCRA Kolhapur delivered seminar on Energy Conservation & Audit.

“Swachhata Abhiyan” : In Civil Engineering Department

Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is a national level Abhiyan by the Government of India covering 4041statutory towns to clean the streets, roads and infrastructure of the Country; launched on 2 October 2014 at Rajghat, New Delhi, where Prime Minister NarendraModi himself wielded broom and cleaned a road. The Abhiyan is India’s biggest ever cleanliness drive and 3 million government employees and schools and colleges students of India participated in this event. The mission was started by NarendraModi, the Prime Minister of India, nominating nine famousPersonalities for this Abhiyan, and they take up the challenge and nominate nine more people and so on.

Objective of the Abhiyan

This Abhiyan aims to accomplish the vision of ‘Clean India’ by 2 October 2019, 150th birthday of Mahatma Gandhi and is expected to cost over 62000 crore (US$10 billion). The Abhiyan was described as “beyond politics” and “inspired by patriotism”.

In order to celebrate Gandhi Jayanti, Birth Anniversary of LalBahadurShastri and International Day of Non Violence, a colourfulprogramme was organised in our department also. Dr.D.V.Ghevade sir, Principal of the our institution threw light on the sacrifices made by  Mahatma Gandhi and LalBahadurShastri in getting India free.

Padmbhooshanvasantraodadapatilinstitute of Technology feels a privilege of becoming a part of the Abhiyan to clean India by beginning it at home i.e. our college campus and individual department.

The major focus of the Abhiyan was and is to keep the surroundings clean and inculcate a habit in oneself and nearby to keep clean. The Abhiyan received a major participation of trustees, faulty members, staff and all students.

The inauguration day witnessed a campus cleaning session whereby trusteesHon.AmitPatil,Hon,AdinathB.Magdum, PrincipalDr.D.V.Ghewade sir,all HOD’s Staff members in joint hands with students cleaned the whole campus area including the all department , gardens, canteen, parking,hostels and the main college areas.

In civil Engineering department cleaning of outside area, gardens and corridors was carried out by faculty, staff and students. The cleaning of classrooms, laboratories and faculty cabins was carried out by NSS students, faculty and staff.
